AR-15 Single Shot Loading Device

The Original Bob Sled allows the loading and firing of single rounds during competition, at the benchrest, or out varmint shooting.

The Original Bob Sled was designed and patented by Bob Hahin some time prior to 2004 and had superior performance compared to the replacement magazine followers of the day. In 2004 Bob submitted a sample to Camp Perry and received CMP approval … which required a rules change that was implemented that same year. Since then the Original Bob Sled has become hugely popular among competitive shooters and is available for multiple rifle platforms.

Here is how it works.
The Original Bob Sled (OBS) is inserted instead of a magazine. When the bolt is opened, the built-in plunger on the OBS trips the bolt catch and holds the bolt open. A single round is then placed in the ejection port and allowed to rest in the channel of the OBS. The bolt release button is pressed and the single round is loaded. When that round is fired, the action cycles normally and the OBS plunger trips the bolt catch lever to hold the bolt open. This provides a very smooth operation for slow fire.
NOTE: Original Bob Sled models for bolt-action rifles do not have a spring-loaded plunger to lock back the bolt.
